What do I need to get started?
You will need an Internet connection,
an e-mail account, and a user id and password.
We recommend a Pentium class machine with at least 256 MB RAM, however
any computer that is capable of Internet connection is adequate for
FocalTRACK.
User ids and
passwords are supplied by your Administrator.
Please note that is your personalized user id and actions within the
system under this user id are assumed to be taken by you. If you require an additional user id please
contact your administrator.
2.
What type
of Internet connection should I be using?
FocalTRACK
can function on minimum on a 56 Kbps modem. Cable Internet connections and high
speed telephone connections are more common today and make downloads times much
quicker.
3. What browser should I be using?
For best viewing results you will need
Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher.
To
determine your current browser version:
1.
Open your browser (Internet Explorer).
2.
From the menu bar, select Help
3.
Select About. A screen will appear that displays your
browser name and version.
4.
Visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/ if you need
to update your browser.
4. What screen resolution should I be using?
Recommended
screen resolution size is least 800 x 600 for a 15" monitor and 1024 x 768
for a 17" or greater monitor. This will
make the text slightly smaller but you will be able to see much more on screen.
To change your screen resolution.
1.
Go to the Control Panel
(found under Start Menu -> Settings)
2.
Select the Display
icon.
3.
Select the Settings Tab
and adjust the screen resolution bar.
5. Documents not open properly in FocalTRACK.
What could be wrong?
If you
have Windows Service Pack 2 installed on your computer you may notice a pop-up
blocker that prevents document from being displayed or prevents downloads to
your computer. The simplest way to
alleviate any problems this is to add the FocalTRACK website to your browser’s trusted sites list.
1.
Go to Internet Explorer Tools
menu, then Options.
2.
Select the Security Tab,
then select the Trusted Sites (Green
icon)
3.
Select the Sites…
button and add “http://www.focalTRACK.com” and click Add.
4.
Make sure you unselect
"Require Server Verification (https)…" and click OK.
6. Will the pop-up blockers in Yahoo or Google
toolbars impact my usage of FocalTRACK?
We
recommend that browser toolbars (e.g. Yahoo or Google toolbars) be tuned off or
alternatively that the toolbar be configured to disable the pop-up blocker for
the FocalTRACK site. Some application
controls such as the FocalTRACK date selector that will not work properly if a
pop-up blocker is activated.
Note on
Personal Software Firewalls
Personal software
firewalls such as Norton and MacAfee can also block pop-ups and produce the
same problem as Additional Browser Toolbars by blocking specific FocalTRACK
controls (such as date selector). These
personal firewalls can also be configured to allow pop-ups for the FocalTRACK
website (www.focalTRACK.com) and do not compromise your security.
1.
What could make response time is slow, when I
have a fast Internet connection?
Some Browser Toolbars
that have pop-up blockers as well as Personal Software Firewalls may cause a
slow response while navigating FocalTRACK due to excessive filtering of pages
for pop-ups. We recommend adding
www.focalTRACK.com to your trusted sites.
2. How can I
make more viewing room on the screen?
In order to make more viewing room on the screen you can
minimize the left navigation window by selecting the small white arrow just
above the search tab. Once minimized, you can change it back but selecting the
white arrow again.
3.

prevent cookies from working properly.

lower right of the computer screen.
Ensure that the date, time (including AM or PM), and time zone are all
